Welcome to (UTH) Universal Taekwondo-Hapkido & Student Care Facility, Inc. (Houston & Jersey Village)
· Are you interested in learning Martial arts?
· What styles do we teach?
· Is this school the right fit for me?
· I am new and or relocating to this area?
· Are you looking for a different school which offers quality instruction with an excellent learning and friendly environment?
You will find traditional martial arts instruction at our school. This is our foundation. Taekwondo and Hapkido are taught both as a form of self defense and as a martial art, not a martial sport. We teach consistently with traditional methods that are constantly evolving as we strive to provide the very best quality, in-depth knowledge, and training experience available in Taekwondo and Hapkido today.
From the beginning and throughout history, Taekwondo and Hapkido applicants who qualified and were accepted as students were required to learn the known core subjects of their time: Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, along with Poetry and Calligraphy. Our school follows this same model. This is why our highest priority is placed on the “Cultivation of our Ones’ Character,” not just kicking, punching and acquiring new belts.
In staying with tradition, Universal Taekwondo-Hapkido students are taught a system of deeply rooted core values in association with embracing strong academics. The development of accountability and responsibility for our school age Taekwondo and Hapkido students begins with a structured environment. All school age students are required to present each and every academic progress report/report card to their instructors as soon as it becomes available to them.
In the past and now in the present, the intended purpose for such high standards was for the development and cultivation of ones’ character. Throughout history, society has held martial art masters and their students to a higher standard. Martial arts students are expected to become not just role models, but leaders, in all facets of their life and society.
Beginning with our Little Tigers programs through and including our adult Taekwondo and Hapkido programs, you will see a consistent progression of well-orchestrated and organized discipline along with consistently challenging instruction that is age appropriate to the group receiving instruction. After one month of becoming a UTH student, you will notice a change in yourself or your child. You will be different. After six months of becoming a UTH student, you will have evolved in a most profound way.
This, however, is only the beginning of your martial arts education. Every student will continuously be evolving throughout their martial arts journey. This is why Master instructor and student relationships are so important, they must be cohesive and reciprocal. We believe decorum breeds camaraderie and loyalty through mutual respect.
Students at UTH should expect to be challenged and inspired as never before. Your mind, body, and spirit will be transformed as you pursue your martial arts education studying Taekwondo and or Hapkido.
We look forward to welcoming you into our family as you join us in pursuing your martial arts education.
